4 YOU RESCUE
Over
250 guests attended the event at Cabana One,which
also marked the debut of TORU’s new spring line,
Rescue Wear

MIAMI – April 2, 2009
– On
Friday, March 27, TORU, a rock and roll inspired
dog clothing design company, debuted its spring
line, Rescue Wear, at Cabana One during Rescues
Rock the Runway, a fashion show benefiting Paws 4
You Rescue. More than 250 people attended the
event, which raised over $5,000 for the rescue
organization.
Rescues
Rock the Runway featured eight adoptable dogs
modeling TORU hoodie and tee design favorites like
Dogadelic and Woofalicious as well as the new
Rescue Wear looks. Decked out in high-fashion doggy
wear, one of the show’s stars, Shawn, a terrier
mix, was adopted that evening by a couple who
attended the event.

In
addition to the show, guests enjoyed live music by
DJ Vic Mendez; raffle prizes such as a $100 gift
certificate from Angelo & Maxie’s Steakhouse,
grooming at The Dog From Ipanema and a pet portrait
session by Johnny Valdes of ArtWay 66; and
complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
The Rescue Wear line is designed to help promote
awareness for rescue groups as well as adoption and
spay/neuter programs nationwide. TORU will donate
15 percent of the proceeds from Rescue Wear to Paws
4 You Rescue.

“Rescues Rock the Runway was a fantastic event
helping us not only raise more than $5,000 for our
organization, but also helping to raise awareness
of pet rescue initiatives,” says Carol Caridad,
president of Paws 4 You Rescue. “Generous support
from businesses like TORU and Cabana One are
essential to our all-volunteer organization. Their
efforts combined with the monies raised will help
us rescue more dogs from euthanasia lists at the
Miami-Dade Rescue Center.”
